Good food | 😊 | Hot shower was amazing after a long day | 😍| Gazebo was a great chill | A/C in our room |
TV channels though could improve. Then again, who wants to spend the day in front of a tv when in Vic Falls
The lodge is located really really close to the falls and that was really great. The taxi ride was short and affordable and the staff were helpful in securing not only the taxi but also organizing activities. Our small group of 2 enjoyed a traditional english breakfast complete with BACON (Assumed Zimbabwe was struggling) and the staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. The rooms were standard but we really weren't expecting the Ritz so that was great. Overall, great value for money and i recommend them.
This review is based on mine and my family's stay on the night of the 7th if August 2019. Where do I start? This place is possibly one of the worst places I have ever had the displeasure of paying to stay. The rooms look ok, nothing to write home about though. The customer care is good before you pay, after that forget about customer care because it goes out the window. We were charged USD$10 each for breakfast, but the breakfast we were served probably cost less than USD$10 between the 6 of us. We left with a what we thought were mosquito bites (although the jury is still out on whether indeed they were mosquitos or not). One of our rooms had no hot water coming out of the shower. To be honest the place is very very over priced for what you get and I personally wouldn't recommend this place to anyone even if you paid me. On a positive note the waitress who served us breakfast was very nice and professional.
Through a team building exercise in Victoria Falls, 12 of us stayed at the lodge. Initially we were disappointed upon check-in in the evening that there was no hot water and they had to switch it on. They explained to us and all was well again. Water was available within 3 minutes of switching on.
The rooms were definitely not hotel quality but then again, we had not chosen the lodge for its hoteliness. We need a warm, friendly environment which would feel like warm and they delivered. The rooms were very clean and neat and the beds were quite comfortable. Temperatures were a bit high at night but the overhead fans took care of that.
Breakfast in the morning was a splendid affair. We were served a full English breakfast professionally in the cool summer breeze under the gazebo. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and courteous. The lodge is a 5 minute drive from the actual falls. We will definitely be staying there again..
Victoria Falls is a very expensive town and accommodation is quite expensive. Wild Trekkers was averagely priced and I have to admit, we did get good value for the money. The lodge seems to be under renovation but rooms are cosy, clean and comfortable. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was quite good. It was more of a home experience than guest accommodation. We requested to have our dinner in our room while we watched satellite tv and we cuddled up in front of the tv just as if we were home. They have fans in place of air conditioning and that was quite quaint. Bath water was hot, parking was available, albeit unpaved and the lodge is a 10 - 15 minute leisurely walk from the actual falls and an 8 minute walk from town. I highly recommend this lodge if you are on a budget but still wish to do better than back packer lodges.
As a local tourists I deserve to be treated well like any other tourist. After paying premium the lodge didn't deliver on the comfort, fridge, dstv and served terrible breakfast. I used wild trekkers for the carnival from 30/12/17.
This lodging should reduce prices because its not at all worth their charge. The reception was terrible i was recieved into a lower level room than what i paid for the room was originally a toilet before the owner thought to make it a room without even knocking out the small bathroom window. This roon was an after thought by a host who only cares about the money not service offerings. It was very disrespectful of the host to be so unwilling to offer good service. Budget hotel doesnt translate to terrible service.
My travel companions were given a room just as bad and to top it off had blood. Imagine how disgusting and disappointed a guest feels cleaning blood. What does house keeping actually do then?
The website claims that there is DSTV and fridge but well thats just so u make a payment that is non existent. Breakfast is bad and atvone time all the residents refused certain elements of the breakfast and got another bad though better substitute.
What troubles me is also the selective approach to clients where she gives the impression that there are clients that are more important than others. For example an international client is more important than a local client but they still pay the same.
Please I would rather send murderers and rapists to jail over WILD TREKKERS LODGE not because they are criminals but because jail is more humane. Anyone who says different is lying dont waste money and time on this dump.
My experience in 2015 and 2017 : Poor service. Leaking toilet. Very bad internet connection. Rooms not properly designed or equipped for accommodation. Please redo the whole place or shut it down. :-(
